World Realty Brokerage Firm emerged in the year 2000, a testament to the vision and dedication of Richard Jones. With a remarkable journey spanning 13 years as an affiliate broker for three distinguished real estate firms, Richard has forged strong and enduring relationships within the industry. Notably, these connections extended to esteemed names in the fast food and retail sectors, with Walgreens standing out as a prominent partner.

The dawn of the new millennium brought with it unexpected challenges, notably the tragic events of 9/11. World Realty, like many others, faced its share of adversity. However, our unwavering commitment to service and the solid foundation of relationships established over the years enabled us to weather the storm and emerge stronger than ever.

Today, as the Principal Broker of World Realty, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the clients who have trusted us. Your faith has been the cornerstone of our growth, enabling us to play a pivotal role in nurturing businesses throughout the Southeast.

In 1987, I began my career as a commercial real estate agent. Originally, I started off brokering office space, which did not last long. Back then I found it too tedious to do all the space planning for the staff of the company. Also I had a marketing degree from, at that time, Belmont College here in Nashville, so I felt like I could put my college degree to better use working with retailers and restaurants. I quickly learned that was the right move!

I was fortunate enough to have sold my interest in a company I had founded, which afforded me staying power, as I started in my commercial real estate career. No sooner than I got started, the recession of 1989-1991 hit and if it were not for brokering “Little Ceasar’s Pizza'' deals, I’m not sure I would have lasted. Eventually I found my footing doing fast food deals and started working on Walgreens transactions. At the time, Walgreens was in an aggressive mode of vacating their shopping center locations, to move into freestanding buildings on the corner of busy intersections. That account literally put my children through college!

In life it seems like we can’t avoid recessions and we had a doozy from 2008-2012. Thankfully, by that time I was well established doing quick service restaurant deals, who actually fared pretty well during the recession. Those were 4 tough years, but I learned to pivot and was honored in 2011, to be named Nashville Business Journal’s “Retail Broker of the Year”. That is an award I am very proud of and to this day, I have that award noted in my email signature. Fast forward to now and I am super pleased to have 2 of my children also get their real estate license and join me in World Realty, now making it a family firm, from being a sole proprietorship these past many years.

My lovely wife Lisa and I have been married since 1977, we have 4 wonderful children and 2 incredible grandsons, whom we love so dearly and bring so much joy to our lives! I am a Deacon in our church, St. Ignatius Orthodox Church, which has been a source of both joy and privilege. Hobbies, I never really picked many up and when asked, I would say my kids were my hobby. I greatly loved raising them alongside Lisa and am proud to see them all thriving in their own lives now.

Honestly, I have never woken up and begrudged what I do, day in and day out working so closely with clients at World Realty, so I consider myself a most blessed man in so many ways!

In 2005, I embarked on my first Summer selling books for the Southwestern Company, the largest and longest privately owned corporation in Tennessee. Being a “book salesman” entails a week-long training program, then relocating to a different state, working 80+hrs a week, straight commission, selling books door to door. It is one of the most respected sales training programs in the country and I knew none of these details going in, but I decided to “drink the kool-aid” and do everything they taught me. I ended #13 out of over 1,000 first year sales students and went on to become a Corporate Recruiter during the school year, building my own teams to take out on the bookfield and sell the following Summers.

At the end of my 3rd year with Southwestern, I couldn’t wait to come home and join my father in his real estate business! I spent the next year working alongside him, while trying to acquire my real estate license. I failed the National portion of the exam 3 times, each time getting a better score, with the last exam being 1 question away from passing. It was a total gut punch and what’s worse, if you fail 3 times you must wait a year and retake all the courses, before you can sit for the exams again. I felt like God was saying, “Not now Rebekah, let’s try something else!”

While working with my Dad, I really enjoyed meeting with the architects, engineers and designers. I loved the space/site planning of it all and decided to go back to school for Interior Architecture. During my junior year, I landed an internship in Los Angeles with my absolute favorite designer! I did correspondence work for him throughout the semester and would spend the Summer in L.A. working alongside the team. When I got to California, the designer asked to push my start date back a few days and said he would let me know when to come into the office.

I never heard from him again.

Every door had opened for me to get to L.A., so it felt right to stay for the Summer and look for another job. After 2 months another internship found me, but it would last through the Fall semester. Everyone encouraged me to stay on and take it. The internship was on a feature film, working in the art department with the Set Decorator, an absolute dream job! It was one of the most intense and rewarding experiences, and led to a job offer at a Hallmark production company, as their Art Department Coordinator.

I spent the next 2 years working on multiple Hallmark films, ultimately realizing that the production industry was not for me and decided to pursue my side hustle with doTERRA full-time. I love helping people and doTERRA is an amazing vehicle for that! Again I found myself in sales, building a team of incredible people and serving a community.

After almost 5 years living in Los Angeles, it was time to move back home to Nashville, continuing on with my doTERRA career. When 2020 hit 2 years later, almost everyone’s careers were put on hold and lives put into perspective. For me the dream of working with my father and carrying on his business had never left, but I still had a lot of fear around it. Eventually, I found the courage to conquer my fears and try again for my real estate license. I am happy to say that I passed the exam on the first try, got my license and have been working alongside my father and brother since October ‘22.

The journey here has been wild and I am excited to bring all of my different skill sets, experiences and strengths to our family business!

  • AFFILIATE BROKER

Welcome to my world of real estate, a realm where passion meets profession. My love affair with the real estate industry began in October of 2022, marking the inception of a fulfilling journey that has shaped both my personal and professional growth.

Real estate is more than just a career choice; it's a legacy that runs in my blood. My father, a stalwart in this domain, has been an influential figure in my life and from a young age, I was privileged to witness the intricacies and dedication that the real estate world demands. Working alongside my father has allowed me to grasp the depth and breadth of the work involved, inspiring me to carve my path in this dynamic industry.

During my time at the University of Tennessee, where I pursued a degree in business, I honed my sales skills through a diverse array of experiences. My summers were devoted to an intensive role, clocking in over 80 hours a week. Door-to-door sales, specifically promoting educational products with the Southwestern Company, became my forte. This period sculpted my resilience and proficiency in sales.

The desire for travel and cultural enrichment led me to study abroad in Spain during my university years, further broadening my horizons and enhancing my interpersonal skills. Post-graduation I joined a certified B Corporation level company, traversing the United States, forging invaluable relationships with college bookstores and orchestrating the procurement of discounted books for students.

Before transitioning into real estate, I found success in the renewable energy sector. My experience involved selling solar energy solutions to homeowners across Nevada, Texas, and Florida. This endeavor not only reaffirmed my passion for sales but also underscored the importance of sustainable practices in modern living.

Having grown up immersed in the world of sports, I have always thrived in a team environment. At World Realty, we operate not only as a professional team but as a tight-knit family. This ethos resonates with my upbringing, bringing a sense of camaraderie and collaboration to our endeavors.

Join me on this exciting real estate journey, where a deep-rooted understanding of the industry, coupled with a passion for sales and a commitment to teamwork, fuels our pursuit of excellence at World Realty.
